Signals go green for transport of electric vehicles on China-Europe rails

China Railway said this week electric vehicles (EVs) could now be shipped by rail, opening a new cargo category for China-Europe rail freight.

The state railway company said finished EVs could travel by rail from 1 October, according to reports, an announcement that follows “intense” industry lobbying over the past two years.
